I recently took a chance at the static line parachuting course. In and of itself, while the techniques and the information are not too difficult to grasp, unfortunately I was not able to complete the course successfully. I think the instructors and the staff were completely wonderful and friendly in their ability to coordinate and communicate with the students and with teaching the course, but I also think that others ought to know that this course might not provide the results that they were initially expecting. I would very much like to try again with this company and with this location, but some of the options beyond an initially failed course were very vague. Ideally, I would like to see this company (or the protocols that were referenced) showcase potential alternatives for those that still wish to improve/grow from their experiences.
Once the course is unsuccessful, a few questions remained unanswered: a.) is this a permanent disqualification for said course , b.) what happens with the experience already gained from the course (ie: completed jumps) and c.) if there is a potential for future opportunities to retake the course, what is the timeline for that kind of thing?
I think the company and the staff are both wonderful and superb as mentiond. That being said, a lot of time, effort, and money is provided from the student to partake in the course, so if the course is unsuccessful for said student, I would hope that the student is better informed of a continued ability to succeed, whether that be a timeframe to retaking the course or something else.
Negligence is one thing from a student that should never be tolerated; on the other hand, if there is an issue in one's ability to grasp a technique, I hope that there is an improvement in the kinds of options available for growth (or a better and clearer dissemination of said information). I was somewhat left with the feeling that there was not much I could do if I were to engage in the sport once more, and so I hope that there is a stronger initiative for those who were unsuccessful to keep trying again if possible.
Other than that, their personnel and their staff are very safe and controlled. This company and their training courses offer a very strong and controlled environment in becoming certified for anyone who is strongly interested in potentially skydiving. - 7/04/2025
